Patio Spaces: Using Them Year Round

When I bought my home, the patio had a lot to do with my decision. I saw it as the perfect place for parties, cookouts, and lounging in the sun. What I didn't realize is that the right accessories would allow me to use the space year round. I compared several retractable designs offered by different patio cover companies before I found the right one. I've also purchased portable heaters that allow me to use the space for outdoor events when the temperature is a little nippy. If you like the idea of using your patio any time of the year, stick with me for a few minutes. I'll tell you which accessories I bought and how I use them. Before long, you will also be able to enjoy your patio no matter what the weather is doing.

3 Telltale Signs You Need Sprinkler Repair

As a homeowner who loves gardening, you can't always rely on mother nature to keep your kitchen garden thriving. In the summer months, you need a sprinkler system to keep your vegetation from yellowing and eventually drying out.

An irrigation system ensures that all the time you dedicate to yard work doesn't go to waste due to a sudden change in the weather. Making this simple addition ensures your yard is always sufficiently watered all year round. And that's why you should quickly attend to sprinkler repair issues before they render your irrigation system useless. Here are three telltale signs you need sprinkler repair.

1. Soaked or Dry Patches

Sprinkler systems are designed to evenly distribute water across your yard. So, if you notice dry or soaked sections after having the system on for some time, there is an underlying repair issue you should address. A plausible explanation for this phenomenon is sprinkler nozzle blockage or sprinkler leakage respectively.

Whichever the case, you should contact a trusted technician with your observation and have them find out the root of the problem. For gardeners, balanced water coverage is crucial because all plants need a sufficient water supply to thrive. If you overwater or underwater certain sections of your kitchen gardens, some plants will end up dying. Timely sprinkler repair enables you to maintain a healthy garden during dry seasons.

2. Low Water Pressure

If you notice that the force with which water is sprouting from certain sprinkler leads has reduced, it means the water pressure of your irrigation system is low. This is a problem because your irrigation system won't be able to cover as much ground as it's intended to.

And while you might be tempted to disassemble the affected sprinkler heads to figure out what the problem might be, going the DIY route would be the wrong move. You should instead contact a professional technician who has experience fixing sprinkler systems like yours. Your technician will identify and fix the malfunctioned component to restore your sprinkler system's optimal function.

3. Sputtering Sprinkler Heads

When you notice your sprinkler heads spraying water tangentially, it's an indication that the irrigation system water valve has malfunctioned. Off-target irrigation isn't suitable for your yard because the water won't be evenly distributed across every section.

Another explanation for this phenomenon is cracked sprinkler heads that are now spraying water in different directions. Or maybe, the nozzles are blocked, so when the water forcefully sprays out of the sprinkler heads, they don't follow the intended directions. Whichever the reason is for this sprinkler repair issue, a technician can help you restore normal function.

If any of these telltale signs look familiar, don't hesitate to contact sprinkler repair services.
