Three Places to Use a Hall Tree
A useful piece of furniture that you'll commonly come across at furniture stores is a hall tree. While you might not recognize this piece of furniture by its name, you've almost certainly seen one in a friend or family member's home. Hall trees offer various types of storage for your family—but, regardless of their name, you don't need to always place them in one of the halls of your home. If you're interested in buying a hall tree, it's a good idea to think about the various places that you could situate it. Here are three locations in which a hall tree can be a good fit.
Next to a Door
A popular place that people use hall trees is next to an exterior door. While a lot of people place this piece of furniture in the entry area just inside the front door, you should think about what door your family uses most. If you use a side or back door more than the front door, a hall tree will be useful in either of these locations. It has space to hold all sorts of your items, including coats, shoes, hats, and various accessories. If you own a dog, you can easily hang the dog's leash on one of the hall tree's hooks to grab before you walk out of the house with your pet.
In the Garage
Another location in which a hall tree can work well is in the garage. If the space inside of your home is limited and your family often enters and exits the residence through the garage, having the hall tree here will make sense. If you have children, you can expect that your hall tree will be filled with children's outerwear. This is especially true during the winter when your kids will wear snowsuits, gloves, hats, and other gear daily. This winter apparel can sometimes smell when it's wet, so hanging it on a hall tree in your garage will keep this smell out of your home.
In a Child's Room
Don't be afraid to think about unique places to situate your hall tree. This is a piece of furniture that can often work well in a child's bedroom. If your child has a lot of outerwear and shoes, you might ask that they keep some of these things in their bedroom to avoid monopolizing the space in the front closet. Adding a hall tree to your child's room provides ample storage space for all sorts of your child's items, including their school backpack, sports bag, and more. This can prevent the area around your front door from looking cluttered. Visit a furniture store to find the right hall tree for your home.
